Last Saturday, Rev. Dr. Andrea Zaki, President of Protestant Churches in Egypt, participated in the celebration of the Arab Evangelical Church in Whittier, California, on the occasion of the 25th anniversary of the beginning the service in the church. Rev. Dr. Hisham Safwat, the pastor of the church, and several leaders of the Arab Evangelical Church in Los State Angeles attended the celebration.
He also participated in the Sunday evening service with a spiritual message in the church. Then he met Ambassador Ahmed Shaheen, Consul General of the Arab Republic of Egypt in Los Angeles. They shared in their dialogue several vital issues about the role of the Egyptian state in advancing economic progress and contributing to building a decent life in general, and health and social systems. They also agreed on the importance of popular diplomacy in conveying the actual image of the Egyptian situation in facing any attempts to distort through social media's harmful exploitation.
The Presidency of Protestant Churches’ tours were scheduled to include several US states, including Washington and New York, and having meetings with several prominent American leaders, American evangelical church leaders, and civil society leaders.
