The Presidency of Protestant Churches also affirms its full commitment to the Presidency of the Council of Ministers' decision to suspend the weekly corporate (or public) prayer on Sunday and Friday until further notice. During the meeting, members of the General Evangelical Council and the Heads of other Evangelical Denominations in Egypt decided the following:
1- Worship Suspension Continuation in churches to the rest of the week and until July 6, so that the Heads of Protestant Denominations, with their councils, can study the details of the Evangelical churches' reopening plan, while adhering to both reports of the Church Reopening Committee and the Medical Committee. However, the Congregation Council and the Heads of the Protestant Denominations will meet on Monday, July 6, to discuss and approve the gradual reopening plan of churches.
2- As for weddings and funerals, attendance is obligated to only 25% of the church hall area, provided that the commitment to the distance between individuals is at least 2 square meters while adhering to all the precautionary procedures approved by the Reopening Committee of Evangelical Churches.
3- Allow the procedures for ordination and instating. Commitment to the spacing between individuals with at least 2 square meters and adhering to all the precautionary measures approved by the Committee for the Reopening of Evangelical Churches should be considered.
4- Suspending pastoral visits, with the necessity of continuing pastoral work through social media until the decision to open churches is made.
5- The direct broadcast of the services provided by the Church will continue throughout the week.
6- The Lord's Supper may be made when returning to churches and corporate worship.
7. Concerning conference guest homes, the Heads of other Evangelical Denominations and the boards of directors of conference guest houses are assigned to develop a plan for the gradual return to work considering the precautionary decisions approved by the state and the action plan of the Reopening Evangelical Churches Committee. The plan should be ready and presented to members of the General Evangelical Council and the Heads of Evangelical Denominations in Egypt at their next meeting on July 6. At the end of the meeting, we pray for the families of who passed away, recovery for the sick, the safety of medical personnel, and our dear country, Egypt.
