The President of Protestant Churches in Egypt, Rev. Dr. Andrea Zaki, said after the final approval of the House of Parliament Representatives to establish an Evangelical Endowment Authority: “We thank President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi for all his efforts to achieve the state of citizenship on the ground, and to establish the principle of equality among all citizens. We also thank Dr. Moustafa Madbouly, Prime Minister, and Dr. Ali Abdel-Al, Speaker of Parliament, Mr. Al-Syed Al-Sharif, Mr. Suleiman Wahdan, the deputies of the House of Parliament Representatives, Dr. Osama Al-Abed, Chairman of the Parliament's Religious Committee, and the members of the Egyptian Parliament.”
It is noteworthy that the House of Parliament Representatives, during its plenary session today, on Monday, headed by Dr. Ali Abdel-Al, had ultimately approved a draft law regarding the establishment of the protestant churches and Catholic Church Endowments Authority, after the parliament had already completed its discussion in a previous session.
