Rev. Dr. Andrea Zaki, the President of the Protestant Churches in Egypt, received Rev. Eid Salieb, Head of the Baptist Convention for the Independent National Baptist Churches, one of the Evangelical denominations in Egypt, and his accompanying delegation of Baptist churches’ pastors in the United States of America, and some businessmen. This visit comes in light of the new presidency of the Baptist Convention.
This was announced by the pastor Eid Salieb, Head of the General Baptist Convention.
The meeting dealt with how the coordination, consultation, and dealing would occur between the General Assembly and the leaders of the Protestant Churches. This arises in light of the role played by the President of the Protestant Churches for all different Evangelical denominations, freedom of worship, and his efforts to legalize the conditions of churches in Egypt during the era of President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi, in which liberty and citizenship prevail.
The delegation of American pastors applauded the security and stability they saw in Egypt, especially during their visits to some archaeological sites in Egypt, particularly the pyramids and the Saqqara area.
The head of the Convention accompanied the delegation. They had made an exceptional visit to the headquarters of the Independent Baptist Theological Seminary for the Middle East in the Al-Shorouk region. During their visit, they met the students and were received by the Reverend Dr. Joseph Morris, the college dean.
