Rev. Dr. Andrea Zaki, President of the Protestant Churches in Egypt and President of the Coptic Evangelical Organization for Social Services, expressed his delight at the participation of the Coptic Evangelical Organization for Social Services at the COP 27 climate summit in Sharm El Sheikh and stated:
“Egypt’s hosting of the COP27 climate summit is a historic success for the Egyptian state, we are proud of every Egyptian, and we are proud of the participation of the Coptic Evangelical Organization for Social Services in the Climate Summit, which is the most important and largest event aimed at recognizing the major countries' responsibilities regarding climate change.
CEOSS devotes all of its efforts to addressing climate change on several levels that serve the Egyptian society, through the launch of the electronic application “Smart Guide” for farmers, and the model of contract farming with small farmers, and the “Izraa (which means Cultivate )” initiative in partnership with the National Alliance and the Egyptian Ministry of Agriculture.
He further stated: " In addition to our role and the pride we take in our long history of national development and the contribution of our experience, the Forum for Intercultural Dialogue within the Coptic Evangelical Organization for Social Services is supporting the initiatives of religious leaders to raise awareness of religious texts calling for the protection of God's creation. And we are communicating with all our global partners. And finally, we extend greetings to all COP27 guests and pray for the success of our nation.
