The President of the Protestant Churches in Egypt, Reverend Andrea Zaki, received today, Wednesday, Dr. Mahmoud Al-Habbash, the Palestinian Chief Justice and Advisor to the Palestinian President for Religious Affairs, in the first meeting of its kind for the presidency of the Protestant Churches in Egypt with the Palestinian Authority.
The President of the Protestant Churches said: "No one can deny that Palestine is the most valuable religious place in the world. We believe in the strength of Egyptian-Palestinian relations, and we cherish and support the role of the Egyptian state in supporting the Palestinian cause and the initiative of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi in the reconstruction of Gaza. We always hope for a better future for the great Palestinian people."
For his part, Al-Habbash valued the reception and welcoming of the President of the Protestant Churches in Egypt, stressing the "deepness of Egyptian-Palestinian relations, which are not only at the official level but also the popular level."
Al-Habbash stressed "the importance of the Egyptian state's standing, its main role in supporting the Palestinian cause, and the initiative of President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi in the reconstruction of Gaza." The advisor to the Palestinian President presented a set of books donated by President Mahmoud Abbas Abu Mazen.
The reception was attended by the Cultural Counselor Naji Al-Naji from the Palestinian Embassy and Mr. Mumtaz Beshai, Vice President of the Coptic Evangelical Organization for Social Services.
